Karnataka Professional Tax Slabs
Karnataka takes ₹200 a month, ₹300 in February in its first band and up to ₹200 a month, ₹300 in February in its top band, and nothing up to ₹24,999. The most a person pays is ₹2,500 a year.

Karnataka sets professional tax by your gross pay for the month. Each band has its own monthly amount, taken from your pay every month, with a different amount in one month at the top band.
In all, Karnataka has 1 paying band above a nil band (up to ₹24,999). The tax is a fixed amount for the band you are in, not a percentage of your pay, so a raise inside a band changes nothing and a raise across a band changes it by one step.
The ladder compares each band’s yearly tax with the ₹2,500 legal limit. A salary at the top band pays the most Karnataka allows.

Look for a line called “Professional tax”, “PT” or “Prof. tax” among the deductions. It sits beside provident fund and income tax, and it is subtracted from your gross pay before the amount that reaches your bank.
If the amount differs from the figure here, your employer may be using an older slab or a different salary figure: ask payroll which gross pay it applies the slab to.
